The poker in the cherry tree was “implanted” in the tree circa 1950. The poker was nicked from a house in Coaltown of Balgonie to assist the perpetrators (my dad and his pals) to access the cherries. After gorging themselves on the cherries they could not remove the poker to return it to where it belonged. As you can see the poker is still embedded in the tree to this day. Meaningful posts to follow.
